With the current economic conditions many people in just about every industry are looking for jobs. Web designers and web developers have the advantage of having some great resources to help them find work. Last week the DesignM.ag job board was launched to give employers a free place to post jobs, and to help designers and developers find the right opportunities. In addition to our job board, there are a number of other niche specific places to look for work. In this post we’ll take a look at 27 of the options for designers and developers. Whether you’re looking for full-time work, freelance gigs, or just part-time work, there are opportunities out there.
Working online comes with its own advantage of being able to network quickly. Plenty of freelancers run blogs and often launch their own job boards on top of these websites. Professionals who need to hire designers or developers like the convenience because it naturally attracts the most devoted, skilled, and passionate workers.
You may be surprised at the level of convenience it can offer both parties! In this gallery I’ve put together some popular job boards which you can find both freelance and full-time work.
Smashing Magazine’s job board has a large selection of jobs posted. There is a good variety of freelance and full-time jobs, as well as both design and development.
37signals also has an active job board. Theirs has more postings for development jobs, but still a goo number of design jobs.
Authentic Jobs focuses exclusively on design and development, and there are a good number of listings.
Coroflot has an active job board that includes jobs in all different types of design.
CrunchBoard focuses on tech jobs, including web development.
Almost all of the jobs posted at ReadWriteWeb (which is currently more than 100 jobs) are in the programming/development category.
Ars Technica includes a large selection of IT and programming jobs, with a smaller, but still decent, number of jobs in the design category.
