Si Scott – Nike…awesome!!
I hope to be this good one day!
Waouh, awesome !
great collection, thank you.
Also cool graphics too!
Fantastic! tanks!
Sorry to be a crank, but that’s not typography, that’s lettering, or letter art, or something. It has very little to do with typography.
Bringhurst,
You have a valid point. In the introductory paragraph I said typography and text effects because I thought that was more descriptive, but for the title I decided to keep it shorter. The intent wasn’t to misrepresent the content, I’ve seen the same things referred to as typography all over the place, although I agree with you that in a technical sense it could be called something else.
Looks great. Nice collection. AKA Media ones i like the best. Its clean and simple.
Thanks for the inspiration Steven. These are simply stunning!
Some very cool stuff but half of AKA.Media One’s work is illegible. When type is that far degraded (Nike ad), it ceases to be type and becomes…string.
Great collection, thanks for sharing! Having the same doubts though as eschot in the comment above.
One of the main purposes of typography is to make text readible, so that your audience actually can ‘understand’ your message.
But never the less, some great stuff in this post!
Cheers & Ciao …
Very nice collection, thanks for sharing.
Dam awesome!

awesome post. these are at the top of my favorite type designs
I absolutely love Si Scotts’s work. Such amazing pen work. Great collection of typography inspiration!
AKA.MediaOne – Nike and the Sweetest Taboo are my favorites. The shoestring is very original but I must admit that I had to read the title below before I could discern what it said. Also love Steve Goodin’s Massive Attack. Thanks for compiling this collection.
Typography is amazing. I like Good Morning Stranger.
These are some amazing examples of typography designs and makes me want to have a go at it myself. I like all of them, not one of them is bad. Thanks for sharing.
Alex Trochut is missing there!
Nice 5 though
Omeguis,
The post wasn’t attempting to cover the best five out there, just five that are very good. I’m sure there are plenty of other designers that could have been included as well.
That’s very impressive! Like them all (almost all)!
Oh GOD .. they are so cool !!
they are so cool !! amazing
