40+ Inspirational Non-Profit Website Designs
Non-profit organizations obviously operate on a tight budget. In these situations, websites are rarely given priority in terms of dedicating the necessary money and resources to developing a powerful and effective website. In this post we’ll look at more than 40 websites of non-profit/social action organizations who have exemplary web designs.
Non-Profit Organization Websites:
The Society of Publication Designers
Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center
Greater Maple Valley Community Center
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
The Worldwide Blogger Bake Off
Students’ Association at UNITEC
Students Against Destructive Decisions

Nice list 🙂 thanks for sharing.
Thanks for very inspirational list. It will surely increase my website design desire.
Lots of very nice sites, I love the “Housing works” large background picture.
Btw, our site http://www.lab-elle.org is a non-profit association trying to fight gender stereotypes in children books.
This may already be known, but I felt compelled to point out that while we’re really thankful to have made this list as an example of great design, Electricurrent isn’t a not-for-profit organization. Our focus is to work with non-profit and faith-based organizations and to be sure, no one here is driving a Mercedes because of our work, but unless we were listed because of our work (like on CAM International and The Bridgeway Foundation listed above), then by rights, we probably shouldn’t be listed here.
Just trying to help maintain the fidelity of your work – because it’s valuable and greatly appreciated!
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the comment. I actually realized that after the post was published just looking through the sites some more. Obviously I didn’t look that deeply into the content of your site before including it here. I think I got excited about seeing the great website and forgot to actually look at the company behind it. Anyway, I think I’ll remove it from this list but publish it in the general gallery instead.
Thanks Steve! I appreciate the thought to still include us elsewhere – and again, thanks for the great work you’re doing.
Thanks for the compliments Andrew. It’s appreciated.
It’s simply great..

Very nice list. Some great designs and it’s always good to give non-profits some more exposure! 🙂
wow – great collection of very original non-profit websites !
Some really nice designs and am loving Carbonica especially
This is a nice list. I think what it shows mostly is that simple layout — easy navigation – combined with something visual, like a Flash or photo bar in the top third, is something that works. No need to be too smart by half in design. Clean and compelling. This is what we strive for in our work.

Thanks for this post – great resource for anyone completing a redesign or building a nonprofit website. Would love opinions of our new site for Opportunity International – http://www.opportunity.org – THANKS!
An excellent list! As website design companies and agencies we’ve to do everything possible to ensure that non-profit web design is done professionally and affordable.
The founder of my company is very passionate about non profits and sometimes he has agreed to some outrageous discounts. He is very passionate partly because of his involvement with a foundation that he has started.
“here’s life mission africa” is probably my favorite web design of the group. It has a nice theme and design detail throughout the piece.
Thanks for this! As someone who is working on a nonprofit website, these give me ideas for restructuring the site to make it more visually appealing.

The site of Green Coalition is also very good. Though they haven’t updated the design for the last 5 years, its still very good. They seem to be more active on Facebook and Twitter now.

http://www.SportsSpectacular.com is a great non-profit website!
The Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular has been heralded by the Los Angeles Times as the premier sports awards dinner in the country. This exciting charity event was established in 1986 in response to the promise of genetic research leading to the understanding of numerous genetic diseases found in children as well as adults. The Sports Spectacular has raised over $21 million to benefit the life-saving work of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Institute.
