Showcase of Logos with Folds
By Steven Snell | Published October 7th, 2009 in InspirationA current trend in logo design is to use fold effects that give a three dimensional appearance. Some of these logos resemble origami or folded paper. In this post we’ll feature more than 30 logos for your design inspiration.

Do you have any tutorials related to creating such logos?
Fold It’s logo is genius, love it.
Ionut,
No, I’m not aware of any.
Hey, very nice post, very nice logos. I am a big fan of this style (here is for example my logo symbol http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/57311 detailed).
In fact I am more than happy to say that one of these selected babies is mine (egea). Thank you for choosing it.
Ionut, take a look at these:

I guess you’ll have a hint for creating such artworks, now
I’ve recently used a ‘folded’ effect in my personal logo rebrand:

I really like the way it adds texture to a logo.
Looks nice Paul. It’s a subtle effect but it has an impact.

Great designs no doubts. But personally i prefer logos to be 2D than 3D as i feel 3D logos looks wierd when they are printed on namecards
Really great collection! Amazing what some simple shading and shadows can accomplish!
My fav is LQT, good logo. I like the movement!
Great list of inspirational logos, and I’m honored to be one of the mentioned (logobox.no).
Ox Vision looks fantastic!
Very interesting to see the origami trend emerging in so many designs. I agree it does add deth to the design.
Great little selection of logos, I particularly like the logobox, flutterfly and the simpla designs.
Love the designs. Simple but visual. I want to learn to get better at creating 3d logos.
There’s some really nice logos here. I remember working at a previous company where cost of printing business cards was a big factor – and such subtle gradients / 3d aspects would cost a fair bit more than flat colours. So that type of identity was ruled out.
I love flutterfly, btw …. very simple …. beautiful font to match the name / logo … really nicely done …..
many thanks for sharing these …

Interesting category of logos here! I too have been admiring the folded logos lately, it’s a unique trend giving logos depth and movement. Nice collection
Chevron has changed their logo to what I would call a faux fold:

In my opinion it destroys the logo. They’ve changed it from a chevron to something that has the same silhouette as a chevron, but isn’t.
Re: chevron logo
I disagree, I think it recalls the original well and achieves a softer positioning for the brand and it feels more contemporary. The question for me, is how long it will hold the attraction…
