60+ Free Textures from SXC.hu

Last week I posted a collection of Photoshop brushes for creating your own textured graphics. In addition to using brushes, you can get great results and save considerable amounts of time by taking advantage of textures that are freely available. One excellent resources of textures (and other types of stock images) is Stock.xchng. Below you’ll find more than 60 textures from their site. Each image links to the page on sxc.hu where the image can be downloaded.

Great set of textures, however these are almost useless for texture mapping purposes. Generally textures should be in such a way that they can be seamlessly tiled, and therefore having vertical and horizontal continuity.
Nevertheless, these can still be widely used for other purposes.

With the new trend of using background images, textures and subtle compositions, the demand for textures is becoming really high and this article saves loads of time that we might otherwise spend looking for good textures. Excellent info.

I believe it is against the terms of usage to put them in a zip file. The terms say that the pictures/images can be used but not redistributed. Putting them in a zip file to give away would qualify as me redistributing them. Linking to them and having visitors download directly from the source does not. Otherwise, you’re right, it would be helpful.
