101 Free Stone and Rock Textures

Recently I was looking for some good stone textures, so I decided to put together this collection that will hopefully be a helpful resource for others. There are textures from a variety of different sources. As always when you’re dealing with freebies, be sure to read the owner’s instructions and license info.
Lost and Taken:
Lost and Taken is an excellent blog for finding free textures. Caleb posts high-quality textures of all kinds, and readers also occasionally submit their own textures.
Six Revisions:
Jacob Gube from Six Revisions has a set of 15 high-res rough textures available for download. Some samples are shown below.
SXC.hu:
SXC.hu is one of the best resources for free stock photos. There are plenty of textures available for SXC.hu, including stone.
Texture King:
Texture King currently has over 300 textures available for download, including these excellent stone textures.
Grunge Textures:
Grunge Textures has an excellent collection of over 100 stone textures to choose from.
Urban Dirty:
Urban Dirty is another great source of grungy textures, which can be downloaded in your choice of three different sizes.
Free 3ds Textures:
Free 3ds Textures also offers three different sizes for download.
CG Textures:
CG Textures has a huge selection of textures, including many stone textures.
