Good post. I've been thinking about the designer/client relationship more as a partnership lately - each has something to contribute, they have to really, or else the project will miss the mark. The issues arise when either half of the partnership tries to take over the tasks of the other half. Too often, clients want to do the design -generally a recipe for trouble. At the very least, the clients from hell help us truly appreciate our good clients. In my experience, the good ones far outnumber the bad. And I definitely like to make sure they understand how much I appreciate them.
