20+ Photoshop Actions for Photo Editing

By Steven Snell | Published May 10th, 2009 in Resources

Photoshop actions can be extremely helpful for experimenting with different effects and for saving time during the photo editing process. Of course, the ideal situation would be to take photographs effectively in the first place. However, as a designer you are likely to find yourself in situations where you won’t be the one taking the photos, and you’ll need to work with something that isn’t exactly what you need. In these cases, the actions featured here may be helpful for your photo editing.

For a very first time I downloaded all the actions in such a collection.
I rarely find an premade action useful as it is so easy to make own yourself, but these ones definately are.

Man, *WHAT* is with all the generic action names? Imagine trying to pick between “Photoshop Action 41/71/63/16/25″ when editing photos. Come on, even a name like “Herman” would be better than a meaningless number.

  11. Steven Snell on May 11th, 2009

    yipyop,
I agree that names would make it easier. I thought about giving them names for the post but decided that would only make it more confusing when visitors click-through and find it with a different name.

yipyop and Steven, I plan on going through and renaming them on my end once in Photoshop while adding a text file with the original name and new name (or something to that effect)… I agree it’s crazy naming. Steven, great posts and glad you decided against renaming to avoid confusion!

Hi! The actions seems be very cool. But I couldn’t download them.. Can somebody help me with this?

  25. Steven Snell on March 14th, 2010

    Absinthe,
Click through the links of the actions that you want to download. Most of them are on deviantART. On those pages you will see a download link on the left side of the screen.

  26. Absinthe on March 15th, 2010

    Steven,
Thank you ! =) Can I use it also on my MAC based photoshop?

  27. Steven Snell on March 15th, 2010

    Adsinthe,
I think it depends on the action or action pack. If the creator does not specify you can download it and see if it works (I’m a PC user).
