DesignM.ag’s Successful Web Designer Internship
We have reopened our Internship Program!
But we only have
30 6 spots left; enroll in Gold Yearly
to secure yours!
Introducing The Successful Web Designer Internship Program
While working with students of The Successful Web Designer, we found we were creating many talented web designers, but…
Many of them didn’t have the confidence they needed to approach and work with real clients.
That’s why we created The Successful Web Designer Internship Program. (Check out our “Behind-the-Scenes” look below!)
By interning with DesignM.ag you’ll get real-world experience and samples to add to your portfolio.
You’ll gain confidence in your skills and you’ll leave knowing exactly what it takes to make it as a freelance web designer in today’s market.
But, we can only accept 30 students at one time – on a first-come, first-served basis so here’s how to join:
1. Enroll in The Successful Web Designer at the Gold Yearly level.
As part of this program, we’ll work very closely with each intern to make sure we create 30 new successful web designers this year. In order to do this we have to make sure you’re serious about your success. Serious means you’re willing to stick with us for at least a year. (Remember, you can get up to half off when you get The Successful Web Designer for a year.)
2. Earn all 16 badges of The Successful Web Designer Bootcamp.
Before we turn you loose to work with our network of business owners we need to make sure you know what makes a successful website.
All the training you need is already included in The Successful Web Designer so as soon as you complete the 16 weekly assignments, you can start working with our network of clients.
Don’t worry, it’s not hard if you follow the step-by-step video lessons. Plus, you’ll have 1-on-1 support if you get stuck. And, you can complete the lessons as quickly as you want to get started working sooner.
3. Start working on real projects.
Once you earn all 16 badges, contact us and we’ll get to work. We have projects piling up – both for us and for our network of business owners.

Go “Behind-the-Scenes” of The Successful Web Designer Internship!
One of our interns, Sam Hamdy, has agreed to document his progress through our Internship Program!
We’re calling it the “Chronicles of the WordPress Website Build” …
Over the next few weeks we will share all the details of this project so you can follow along step-by-step.
Here are a few highlights from the “Chronicles of the WordPress Website Build” so far:
“When I was asked to select a theme for this client, I knew to focus on functionality rather than design. I knew that I needed to create a child theme, so that updates to the theme wouldn’t override our customizations, and I knew how to do it. When I was asked to customize the design, I knew how to use Firebug, and how to create a custom stylesheet, in order to facilitate the customizations. When I was asked to install, activate, and configure plugins, I knew how to do that. I knew how to create the navigation menu, based on the structure that was provided to me. All of this knowledge came as a result of the training I received from SWD.” – Sam Hamdy
“This was the first time I’d worked with a team outside of a corporate environment – and I’ve never worked as an intern before – so I really didn’t know what to expect. I immediately felt welcome, and it was clear that the team valued my contributions. I wasn’t made to feel like an intern, but more like an equal and respected member of the team.” – Sam Hamdy
“It probably goes without saying at this point, but I would definitely recommend this program to anyone interested in taking their web design business to the next level. I’m not sure it’s even possible to place a value on how it has helped me. In addition to having the opportunity to work with people who I respect and admire, I also feel like I’ve made some new friends. The fact that I’m being paid for my contribution is just icing on the cake.” – Sam Hamdy
Over the next few weeks we will share all the details of this project. You will be able to follow us step-by-step including:
- WordPress installation
- Theme selection and installation
- Theme customization
- UX design (user experience)
- Plugin installation and set up for a restaurant menu manager
- Content Creation
- Social Media
- And more…
Oh, you will get to see all our mistakes too. Every project has its setbacks and when we hit a snag we’ll show how we deal with it and how to avoid it in the future.
To access the whole reveal of this website being built at each stage, join The Successful Web Designer today. If you join at the Gold Yearly level, you will have the opportunity to work with DesignM.ag as an intern!
What is the time commitment?
The internship will be a part time position and it’s based on a project-by-project basis. When projects come up we’ll contact you to see if you’re available. Each project is different, but we’ll tell you how long the project should take and when it’s due. If you are able to do the job, you can say yes. If you can’t, you can pass it on to another intern.
Are the projects real projects for actual clients?
Yes, once you finish the 16 lessons (or exercises) and earn the badges, you’ll be eligible to work for actual clients as one of our interns.
Why do I need to complete The Successful Web Designer Bootcamp?
The reason we’re asking students to enroll and complete The Successful Web Designer bootcamp is to make sure they’re trained properly before working with clients.
We work with clients who need complete business solutions and a lot of the lessons in The Successful Web Designer cover how to generate traffic, build marketing plans, convert visitors to paying customers, etc. Once a student earns all 16 badges of the bootcamp, we know that they can deliver what we need for our clients.
Can I work at home?
Yes, you can work from anywhere as long as you have a computer and Internet access.
