Today we will be going through the process of creating a portfolio home page. The design uses a textured background created with Photoshop brushes and a featured content area to show off your work. At the end of the post you can download the PSD file used to create the tutorial, or you can get a two-page PSD set (home page and a secondary page) for free at Folio Focus.

Today I would like to go over how to create a fixed sidenav layout for your blog or website.
Having a fixed sidenav comes in handy when dealing with blog style websites where the content is extremely tall and there is a need for good amount of scrolling. The fixed navigation allows the user to cruise through the content without scrolling back up to the top to navigate through the rest of the site.
Since we’re focusing on e-commerce websites this week, I thought it would be good to do a tutorial for designing a layout for an online shop in Photoshop. At the end of the post you will be able to download the original PSD file in case it would be helpful.
