  1. I like the list, except for a few fonts, including “Hit the Road”, that are blatant ripoff’s of originals, this one being Font Bureau’s “Interstate”.

Just to make it clear though, a lot of the typefaces on here are legit. (Fruitger,Impact,Myriad Pro,etc…) And I love all your Vandelay website stuff 🙂

  2. fontuser99,
I have to admit that I’m not familiar with Interstate. I apologize if I posted a ripoff. Thanks for the feedback!

    Felix,
Yes, I like Romeral. The reason I didn’t include it was that the only way I could find to download it was to email the creator.

Thanks everyone else for the comments. Your feedback is appreciated.

  3. Great list! It is always difficult to find some interesting font, every time am spending hours on it… Have bookmarked and will be coming back from time to time:)

  6. Just what I’ve been looking for! Thanks for this great list of fonts. I’m always looking for new sites to find free fonts and I will have to bookmark this because I will come back to visit each site.

  7. ust what I’ve been looking for! Thanks for this great list of fonts. I’m always looking for new sites to find free fonts and I will have to bookmark this because I will come back to visit each site.

  8. Not a bad list overall, but Impact belongs with Papyrus and Comic Sans on a list of typefaces to never use for anything ever. Also Arial should only be used if Helvetica is unavailable.

  9. Blue Highway was not designed for headlines. It is for easy-to-read small clear letters, such as on business cards and notebook inserts, calendars, etc.

At large sizes, it just doesn’t look right.

  10. Oh my! Just delightful! Your writing manner is charming along with the way you embraced the subject with grace is notable. I am intrigued, I make bold you might be an professional on this subject. I’m subscribing to your upcoming updates from now on.

  11. GREAT comment about IMPACT…very funny! This is a super collection and makes me want to carve each of these fonts out of soap (with the exception of Long Tall Sally for obvious reasons) and lather up with them just before riding my 4 seater bicycle off a cliff of fire and landing in a pool of gasoline and thistles.

    Thank you.
