Comment to Win a One-Year Membership to MediaLoot!

A few weeks ago a new membership-based site, MediaLoot was launched. It is an online toolbox of premium design resources, and they have kindly offered to give five readers of a one-year membership to the site for free!

MediaLoot is a project of Jon Phillips of Spyre Studios and Mason Hipp of Freelance Folder. Members of MediaLoot are able to download resources like textures, icons, vectors, brushes, templates and more. The goal of MediaLoot is to eliminate the need for pay-per-use sites by offering a subscription-based service where members can download loads of great resources.

There are already a number of quality items available for download, and more will be added on an on-going basis. The MediaLoot team wants to make sure that they are providing resources that the community wants, so members can make suggestions and vote on ideas for upcoming resources. The site also includes forums where members can can communicate with one another and with the MediaLoot team.

The Giveaway Details:

If you would like to enter to win one of the 5 one-year memberships please leave a comment on this post with a suggestion of a resource that you would like to see from MediaLoot. They’ll use these suggestions to help determine what resources are created and released in the future. On Friday, March 26th the five winners will be selected at random. At that time this post will be updated and the winners will be notified by email (so be sure to leave a valid email address).

If you want to sign up now go ahead and MediaLoot will refund your money and give you the free account if you win.

Also, if you would like to design resources for MediaLoot you can find information about that on their Design for Us page.

UPDATE: The contest is now over. Thank you to everyone who participated. The winners are:

  1. I think that in addition to beefing up their existing resource categories, they should add stock photography for comping (like plain t-shirts, mugs, cds, etc.). When I’m trying to do mock-ups I have a hard time finding straight-forward images of surfaces like those.

They should probably also include a section for type too.

  2. Wish me luck!!!

Well, I guess they should invest more in super high resolution brushes and textures. The designers always need more and more of these.

  3. I’d really like to win! And I think Photoshop styles would be a great thing to have on the site.

  4. If I had a choice between looting a web company and “Media-Loot” legally, I would choose “MEDIA LOOT” its of so much great worth. Looting it is one of the biggest achievement.

Let me be a member rather than a looter

  5. I would love to see the following:
    • Document presets for InDesign
    • WordPress themes
    • Tutorial resources
    • There are plenty of social media icons out there how about Vector art work to be used in print design

Basically instead of web based material think print!

  6. It would be good if there is some Resume, Invoice & Contract Templates. This will even help designer on their business!

  7. thanks for the oportunnity

I would love to see mailings designs and templates.

    see ya

  8. Sign me up!

I think that templates for websites (not necessarily design, more like wireframes that can be customized) and layer styles for photoshop will be very useful!

  9. High Resolution Textures, wonderful (vector) icons, layer styles, wordpress themes

and why not animation stuff for After Effects 😉

  10. Textures textures textures. Om nom nom, eat them up. I live for high resolution textured wallpapers.

*Previous post had incorrect email address, sorry! I’m a nuffy*

  11. Photoshop textures and text styles along with a wide variety of icon packs are the most helpful to me.

As an idea for a new addition to the site, what about having a section where it makes it easy to search for stock images across the web? We all have our favorite sites to get these from but you can’t always find what you’re looking for in one place.

  12. Icons are ok. Fonts and patterns is what designers most need =) And how about basic templates?

  13. Who can resist something with Loot in the title? I grabbed some of their free stuff – liked it very much.

  14. Photoshop elements for great UI designs/templates would be great. Maybe some PS actions to apply on our designs. Thanks!

  15. This would be cool if they also had a category dedicated to mobile handsets, ie. iPhone, Android etc.

  16. Thanks for the give away!

I would like to see photoshop scripts, newsletter templates or icons. 🙂

  17. Seeing as I suck at design, I could really use the membership! 😀

    Some suggestions for resources:
    – iPhone app design resources
    – call to action buttons for websites
    – layered psds and fireworks pngs for web layouts
    – fonts
    – fireworks styles
    – fireworks shapes
    – fireworks textures
    – logo templates
    – social media templates

  18. Large icons sets. Get creative too – do sets specific to industries, healthcare, construction, municipal, etc.

  19. Oh I guess I could leave a suggestion, too: I’d like to see more clean metal textures. There’s already so much “grunge” out there, let’s see the pristine shiny metal stuff. Thanks, guys!

  20. More complete web icons set, social icons full (sample addtoany – all social services of the world in the one set, more vector characters. And…stock photos. Web graphics elements, logos. Business cards.

  21. Count me in! I’d love to see more character illustrations- very useful, and trendy! Thanks!

  22. Since its called medialoot it should have a pretty wide range. So how about a lib of sounds? Useful for making cool flash-designs for example.
They could also add some great photoshop action-sets for basic stuff like resizing, old photo styles, retro etc.

  23. i would like to see web resources like icons menu´s etc. , i hope i win yeah…. good luck to everyone

  24. Would love to see many different icon variations of common website features such as email, rss, newsletter, twitter, etc allow members to choose ones that would fit their website much better. Can’t have enough of this icons.
